Vice President Mutale Nalumango says government is actively addressing the current high cost of living by empowering citizens with resources to help them afford essential commodities.
She further emphasized that the UPND administration has made significant efforts to ensure Zambians are able to cope, despite the opposition's depiction of government as inactive.
Mrs. Nalumango also highlighted the positive impact of the current civil servant recruitment which government has embarked on, which she says is creating jobs and providing a ripple effect of empowerment across the country.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Nalumango says the country has noted an increase in the number of refugees from the neighboring Democratic Republic of Congo-DRC- due to the ongoing conflict in that country.
