Minister of Education Douglas Syakalima is disappointed with the poor results in religious education (RE) recorded in the 2024 Junior Secondary Grade 9 external and General Certificate of Education (GCE) examinations, where the pass rate stands at 15 percent.
Mr Syakalima said poor results were scored in RE despite pupils being taught national values and Christianity at the highest level.
“And we are a Christian nation,” Mr Syakalima said.
“Something is amiss around there; that is where we derive our values for our country, so we must up the scale on those who teach religious education.
