ECZ NULLIFIES EXAM RESULTS FOR OVER 4,700 CANDIDATES

The Examinations Council of Zambia-ECZ- has nullified examination results for 4,771 GCE candidates and indefinitely suspended the GCE exam centre status for eight schools due to examination malpractices.
According to ECZ Public Relations Manager Nicolas Nkhuwa, the eight centers are Bethlehem Secondary School, affecting 1,725 candidates, Chitimukulu Secondary, affecting 1,318 candidates, Sefula GCE Center, affecting 653 candidates and Isoko GCE Center which has affected 116 candidates.
Others include Mapunga GCE center and Kasapa Day Secondary, which has affected 204 candidates, Gesam Secondary, affecting 451 students, and Mukupa Kaoma Day Secondary, where just two papers have been annulled for 100 students.
Mr. Nkhuwa says ECZ is warning examination centers to protect themselves against examination malpractices by following examination administration and management requirements, or risk losing their center accreditation.
He says the eight centers will not conduct GCE exams until further notice.
