Wycliffe Musalia Mudavadi is the current Prime Cabinet Secretary, a position that was specifically created for him by President William Ruto in October 2022. He is responsible for supervising all Cabinet Ministers and chairs committees for Permanent Secretaries among other duties. No such position existed in Kenya before 2022 and is not provided for in the constitution. On top of it, he is the Minister of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, the only ministry that has been exempted from the mass dissolution of cabinet. A king in his his form with very strong Presidential ambitions.
He is Kenya's shortest serving Vice President after serving as the last Vice President under Daniel Arap Moi and Deputy Prime Minister between 2008 and 2012. He contested for the Presidency in the 2013 General Elections and emerged third out of the Eight candidates that fought for the country's top job. It was during the 2013 Elections that Kenya had the first election under a new constitution; the first time the role of running mate was applicable. It was this election that saw the Incumbent President then, Mwai Kibaki fight tooth and nail to run for his third term, the only thing that prevented him was the law which was very clear on the term limits. It was also this election that saw William Ruto rise to more fame as he become the Deputy President to Uhuru Kenyatta after beating their closet rival, the man I regard as the President of Kenya who never was; The mighty Raila Odinga.

As MP of Sabatia Hon Musalia Mudavadi established the Sabatia Eye Hospital. It is still one of the best eye hospitals in the country. The hospital has also become a learning institution for students of ophthalmology. As Minister of Finance between Jan 1993 to December 1997, Hon Musalia Mudavadi reduced inflation to a single digit from a high of 50%. He also reversed negative growth of the economy and put the country back on recovery in 4 years. On Friday 9th December 2022 H.E Musalia Mudavadi was awarded The Doctor of Honoris Causa, an honorary degree of Doctor of Humane Letters in Peace and Sustainable Development from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology.

Gather Them'. What this means, only the man sometimes called 'Messi' can know. When I spoke to Kenya's Journalist Kevin Teya a few weeks ago live on Radio, William Ruto was described as a very shrewd Politician who knows how to play his cards well. I believe establishing an entire new cabinet position for Mudavadi and subsequently exempting him from the mass dismissal is just one of Ruto's display of political craftiness.
