Political Analyst Alex Ngoma has dismissed findings by a midterm review that the ruling UPND has achieved 80% of its campaign promises.
Dr. Ng’oma argues that the free education program cannot be considered a UPND achievement because it started under the previous regime while the increased constituency development fund is government money collected and distributed to citizens, hence is not a new initiative.
He has charged that the UPND has not even reached 50% of its campaign promises and has advised the ruling party to concentrate on fulfilling its campaign promises, such as reducing the cost of mealie-meal and providing cheap fertilizer among others.
In an interview with Phoenix News, Dr. Ng’oma adds that an assessment conducted by the UPND themselves cannot be trusted.
