Official Statement from Yo Maps’ management over his arrest in Namibia

We write in reaction to social media reports about an incident that happened in Namibia but, mostly, importantly we want to express our deep gratitude to the people of Namibia and Zambia for the love. We have truly never known love like this before.

On 11th of July, 2024 l travelled to Namibia for a show. The show was organized by a Namibian promoter. It was not the first time that I was performing in Namibia. I have previously held very successful shows, at the instance of different other promotors in Namibia. It is standard practice that the promotor arranges everything including marketing, venue, flights, accommodations food and licences (work permit) that's what our contract says and I only shows up to perform.

When i showed up to perform, the Namibian immigration authorities also showed up. They did not come for the show but to advise that the Promoters had in fact not obtained the requisite visas for my performer. I was immediately taken to the questioning room'. The immigration authorities were very professional and graceful including suggesting various options. The following day, i was released pending various internal procedures. We would immediate like to express gratitude to the Namibian authorities for the professionalism and love shown throughout this process. This is what being African means.

We cannot forget the concern of the Namibian people and fans throughout this process. The love was overwhelming. Truly the people of Namibia can love you and make you forget the road back home. And I want to promise the people of Namibia a big show to make up for the interruption. I promise you, I will make it for you big time. (September 2024 we're coming)

We are further truly grateful to the embassy of the Republic of Zambia in Namibia for the help. We are grateful to Mr Chola PMC, DJ Siya, DJ Vuyo,Kingster and Chris Paul for making everything possible.

It was a great honour to receive the concern and good wishes of Our Head of State including the love and support of mr Jito and mr Pilato.

I am always grateful to my wife for braving the cold in my absence and indeed the

anxiety in a moment of social media speculation. To DJ Kandeke and the Olios Family - you are a true definition of - ukwangala kwachila ulupwa. To my lawyers - Nsapato & Co. Adocates, (zambia🇿🇲) & Kadhila Amoomo Legal Practitioners (Namibia 🇳🇦)

thank you always for the quick response.

This experience truly taught us love and grace. The outpouring of love from the people of Namibia and Zambia in what seemed like a crisis is overwhelming and we are eternally grateful.

We thank everyone for the various phone calls and solidarity. We do not take it lightly.

Love always!! ❤️
