LATEST MINISTERIAL RESHUFFLES BY PRESIDENT HICHILEMA TO HAVE NO IMPACT IF MINISTERS DO NOT MATCH THEIR PORTFOLIOS

Governance Expert Wesley Miyanda has charged that the reshuffles that President Hakainde Hichilema has made by swapping Peter Kapala and Makozo Chikote from the Ministry Of Energy and Ministry Of Livestock And Fisheries, respectively, will not yield the desired results if both appointees lack relevant professional qualifications and experience.

Yesterday, President Hakainde Hichilema moved Energy Minister Peter Kapala to the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock with his counterpart Makozo Chikote moving in the opposite direction as new Energy Minister.
Mr. Miyanda says reshuffles or changes at ministerial level and other appointments should enhance and refine efficient service delivery through competent individuals who should perform as expected.
He says ministers must be appointed according to their professional qualifications in the absence of which there is a misplacement of labour and expertise when reshuffles are made.
Mr. Miyanda says Zambians expect to see real change in the way these ministers and other appointees are running national affairs and that the head of state must make changes that will benefit the nation.
