ZAMBIA Congress of Trade Unions has threatened to call for countrywide protests if government fails to withdraw the proposed amendments to the Employment Code Act no 3 of 2019.
Speaking after a consultative meeting with its 58 affiliates, ZCTU president Blake Mulala said intentions by government to amend the Employment Code Act no 3 of 2019 would kill the workers by revoking provision of the law that protected the workers entitlement like gratuity, forced leave, transfer of the contract and other proposals.
Mr Mulala said ZCTU had rejected the process to enslave workers through the proposed amendment of the Act.
