A YANGO DRIVER HAS BEEN ATTACKED BY SUSPECTED CRIMINALS IN LUSAKA'S KAMWALA SOUTH


 A 23-year-old yango driver has been attacked by a group of eight suspected criminals in Lusaka's Kamwala South area around 01:00 hours.

The yango driver was attacked as he was dropping off his three clients along Easter Lungu road.
Police investigations indicate that the suspects, armed with machetes, appeared from the Railway line opposite Kuku compound.
The driver and one of the passengers, aged 31, were hacked with machetes before robbing them of their money and cellular phones.
The driver sustained a deep cut on the face while the passenger sustained cuts on the right leg, hands and bruises on the body.
The other two passengers managed to escape without injuries while their phones are reported to have been stolen.
Police officers who rushed to the scene quickly rushed the victims to the Hospital where they are receiving treatment. Their condition is said to be stable.
The money and value of their cellular phones stolen is yet to be established as investigations have intensified.
A manhunt has been launched for the suspects.
