NALUMANGO EXPECTED IN TAJIKISTAN

The Zambian mission in Russia says Zambia is keen to share ideas that will encourage world leaders to find lasting solutions to challenges of water as a result of climate change.

Charge d'Affaires at the Zambian Embassy in Moscow ARCHRITIUS MWAKAYAYA says climate change is having a devastating impact on women and children and requires appropriate policy intervention.
Mr MWAKAYAYA has told journalists that Vice President MUTALE NALUMANGO will be actively participating at a high-level conference on “International Decade of Action: Water for Sustainable Development” with other world leaders in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
He says the active role Mrs. NALUMANGO will play at the conference signifies Zambia's commitment to finding long lasting solutions to problems related to water, health and agriculture.
Mr. MWAKAYAYA says Zambia has noted significant negative health impact of drought, floods and extreme temperatures on women, children and youths and wants to play a role in finding solutions.
According to a tentative programme seen by ZNBC News in Dushanbe, Mrs. NALUMANGO is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with the Prime Minister of Tajikistan and the UNDP Administrator.
The Vice President is also expected to hold meetings with the UN Under Secretary General for Economic and Social Affairs as well as a delegation leader from the Federal Republic of Germany.
Mrs. NALUMANGO will arrive in Dushanbe on Sunday 9th June and depart for Zambia on the 14th of June 2024.
