President Hakainde Hichilema has called on the church to pray for food security and help mitigate challenges of climate change in the country.
The president says the church with their God given leadership skills has a special role to play in ensuring that messages on effects of climate change are spread across the country.
Speaking at a church state dialogue prayer breakfast Mr. Hichilema called on the church to sensitize the public on effects of climate change and also teach the importance of mindset change.
The president has also assured the nation that government is going to realign the national budget push in more resources to ensure, citizens do not go hungry.
He has also noted that his government will continue to dialogue with the church and urged them to preach peace and unity across the country’s 10 provinces.
And Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia President Bishop Paul Mususu has commended President Hichilema for seeking divine intervention in the face of the crisis that has affected the nation.
