Copperbelt Provincial Public Health Specialist Dr Christopher Dube has revealed that the province has so far recorded 3 cholera cases.
In an interview with Phoenix News, Dr Dube says one patient in Ndola, a truck driver was last Friday taken in as a suspect after displaying signs and symptoms of cholera at one of the public health facilities and later tested positive.
Dr. Dube says the other victim from Kitwe is reported to have travelled from Lusaka and that a rapid test conducted on him came out positive and is receiving treatment in isolation but that medical personnel are yet to confirm by culture.
Dr. Dube further said the third victim is a female from mufulira who has no record of travelling but rapid tests conducted on her came out positive and that his office is still waiting for confirmation through a culture test.
He says all the three patients are stable and receiving treatment.
