The Clinical Officers Association of Zambia has recommended that the government strengthen regulations related to public health to ensure the continuation of related policies when there is a change of government.
Association Secretary General Kamfwa Musonda has made this suggestion in the wake of the cholera outbreak which has now become a national concern.
Mr. Kamfwa says regulations plays a key role in ensuring people are not exposed to threats in case of disease outbreaks.
Mr Kamfwa says guaranteeing the continuation of public health policies will see programs implemented by previous regimes sustained by new governments while also enhancing compliance among players.
He says there is a need to also review the water resources management act through a statutory instrument to give clear direction to address water quality standards.
