About 36 by 50-kilogram bags of expired urea fertilizer valued at k32, 400 are expected to be disposed of following a court order by the Chongwe Magistrates Court.

The urea fertilizer was seized for contravening section 16 of the compulsory standards act no. 3 of 2017 and the Zambian Standard ZS 605: fertilizers- urea specification and handed over to Chongwe Municipal Council who later obtained a disposal order from the Magistrate Court.
Confirming the development, ZCSA Head of Communications Brian Hatyoka says the two institutions will collaborate with the Zambia Environmental Management Agency-ZEMA- in disposing off the commodity so as to ensure compliance with the Environmental Management Act and avoid any adverse environmental impact as required by law.
