FIVE PROVINCES TO EXPERIENCE POWER SUPPLY INTERRUPTIONS - ZESCO.

 

ZESCO has announced that five provinces are expected to have power supply interruptions next week Friday and Saturday as the utility company works on the main transmission line in Kabwe.

Zesco Director Transmission, Operations and Trade Justin Loongo said the affected provinces are Northern, Luapula, Muchinga, Eastern and Central provinces.

Mr. Loongo said the maintenance works will be on the main 330kv transmission line from the Kabwe step-down substation to Pendulous Station.

"The planned maintenance works on the transmission will necessitate interruptions of power supply to most parts of Northern, Muchinga, Luapula, Eastern and Central provinces. The works on the main 330kv transmission line from Kabwe step-down substation to Pensulo substation is scheduled to take place on September 16 and 17, 2023 from 06:00 to 16:00 hours," said Mr Loongo.

Mr. Loongo said as a long-term measure the electricity company is constructing the second 330kv Kabwe step down Pensulo transmission line whose works are expected to be completed by the end of December
