GOVERNEMENT has commended Atlas Mara for launching the first ever Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) App on the market that will enable more than 16,000 SME'S to transact.
Small and Medium Enterprise Development Minister Elias Mubanga says that the App is in line with governement's mandate to promote development through creation favourable ways of SME's doing business.
Mr Mubanga during the launch of the Atlas Mara bank's new proportion for SME's said that government created the Ministry as a step to deliberate a step towards uplifting the status of Micro SME as they provide critical mass of entrepreneurs.
"I was happy to hear that the new SME customer value proposition of the first ever SME App on the market that enables over 16,000 SME's banking with Atlas Mara to transact using mobile App as it helps enhance the digital agenda," he said.
He further congratulated the institution for teachings milestone of 1,200,000 customers with 1,000,000 of them using the Tenga mobile money platform.
Mr Mubanga has also called on SME's to take advantage of the opportunities provided by governement and the private sector.
And Atlas Mara Chief Executive Officer Bobbline Cheembela expressed gratitude to governement and the Ministry for the continuous efforts and support for the Financial industry.
"Through an easy to use business management platform, the SME's App will enable business owners in building and managing their businesses. Our mission is to develop digital tools that enable business owners to automate," he said.
He added that it will also directly address SME borrowing gaps.
